Our experienced team has a background in site-based M&E installation spanning over 16 years and has delivered over 8000 prefab units for the low-rise and high-rise residential sector. Our unique site-based knowledge and experience has been crucial in developing the modular systems we offer today.

THE PROBLEM

SKILLS SHORTAGES, QUALITY & PRODUCTIVITY

The construction industry faces a significant challenge with skills shortages, compounded by an ageing workforce and the impact of Brexit. A 2022 survey of the top 200 specialist contractors carried out by ECA, BESA, SELECT & SNIPEF revealed 39% identified skills shortages as their most pressing business concern, with an average understaffing rate of 22%. These shortages have led to firms struggling to meet the demands of the industry, with productivity and profit margins suffering as a result.

THE SOLUTION

DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE & ASSEMBLY

As an industry, we must adapt and innovate. To address these issues, a group of leading construction firms recently created the Construction Productivity Taskforce, which released the Private Sector Construction Playbook. This playbook promotes greater use of off-site manufacturing as a solution,including designing components for manufacture and assembly (DfMA), to help achieve better quality, lower embodied carbon, faster construction times, and improved safety.
